Tunnel Rat posted on June 17, 2012 22:06

I first blogged about Srinivas Doppalapudi back in July 2010, after he was charged with slumdog slave trading.  At the time, his collaborator lawyer said that this scumbag merely made mistakes with his paperwork. As was the case with Apex Technology Group, warnings about this douchbag's crimes were being posted on the Internet long before the U.S. gov't got on the case.  Like Apex's Sarvesh Kumar Dharayan,  Srinivas even tried to use the same tactic of filing a DMCA takedown notice in an attempt to silence his victims.

Now this Indian fucker gets to sit in jail until his sentencing and eventual deportation, which is a good thing.

Wilmington, Del. – United States Attorney Charles M. Oberly, III, announced Srinivas Doppalapudi, a 45 year old citizen of India, in the United States with permanent legal residency (green card) status, pleaded guilty today District Court Sue L. Robinson to visa fraud and money laundering.  Doppalapudi’s sentencing has been tentatively scheduled for a date in September.

According to statements made and documents filed in court, from March 2007, through September 2010, Doppalapudi submitted 33 fraudulent H-1B visa applications.  In entering his guilty plea to visa fraud, Doppalapudi admitted that from March 2007 through September 2010, he operated several businesses which variously applied for H-1B visas and that on 33 occasions he submitted to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service, service contracts which were false, in that, no such agreement or contract existed and the contracts bore the forged signature of one of the purported parties.  Most of the aliens in whose names Doppalapudi requested H-1B visas were in the United States on student visas which were about to expire.

During the period in question, Doppalapudi wire transferred more than $1 million dollars from his business bank accounts in the United States to a bank account in India.  Doppalapudi’s guilty plea to money laundering relates to his transfer of funds, criminally derived from his visa fraud scheme, from his business accounts to his personal account.

Upon entering his guilty plea, the prosecutor asked that the Court to revoke the defendant’s release on bail and to detain Doppalapudi pending sentencing, which Judge Robinson tentatively scheduled for September.  The government advised that Doppalapudi was facing certain deportation upon sentencing and had no incentive to return to sentencing.  The government further argued that detention was warranted due to the following: during the commission of the offense he wired transferred in excess of $1 million dollars from his U.S. bank accounts to a bank account in India; that his business website listed offices in India, Singapore, and Canada; and on nine occasions from 2008 through the date of his arrest in July 2011, he had traveled internationally.  Edmund D. Lyons, Esquire, counsel for defendant, opposed detention, noting that for the last 11 months following his arrest Doppalapudi had been on house arrest with electronic monitoring and fully compliant with all conditions of release.  Judge Robinson granted the government’s motion and detained without bail  Doppalapudi pending sentencing.

Visa fraud, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1546(a), and money laundering, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1957, each are punishable by a maximum penalty of ten years’ incarceration and a $250,000 fine.

The “H-1B Specialty Workers” visa program allows an employer to temporarily employ a foreign worker in the United States on a non-immigrant basis in a “specialty occupation.”  Current laws limit to 62,000 the number of such visas that may be issued annually.  The H-1B visa application process is the responsibility of the employer, not the employee.  Accordingly, it is the employer, not the employee, who applies for the H-1B visa.  If the employer’s application is granted, the H-1B visa is issued to the employer, not the non-immigrant employee.  H-1B visas are issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service and are valid for a period of employment of up to three years.  Thereafter, the employer may seek an extension to this status, for up to a maximum continuous period of six years.

Those employers petitioning for H-1B visas may not lawfully engage in the practice of “speculative employment,” a term used to describe a circumstance in which petitioner does not have an available employment position, but still files a visa request on behalf of a foreign worker.  In doing so, the petitioner speculates that, at some point in the future, the petitioner may be able to secure the foreign worker a job.  In filing such paperwork, the petitioner fraudulently represents that a specific job opportunity is presently available, when, in fact, it is not.

Those employers petitioning for H-1B visas also may not lawfully engage in the practice of “benching workers,” a term used to describe a circumstance in which petitioners engages in speculative employment and then after the non-immigrant worker makes himself/herself available for work, the employer places the worker on “the bench,” that is, in an apartment for otherwise, without pay, while the worker awaits a job placement or searches for his/her own job placement.

The prosecution was a result of a joint investigation by the United States Department of Labor, Office of Inspector General, Office of Labor Racketeering and Fraud Investigations; the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation Division; and Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service – Office of Fraud Detection and National Security.

Though I do not approve of India and Indian's bashing on this site, as an Indian myself, I feel ashamed of people like Srinivas Doppalapudi who make the whole lot look bad. People like these guys should be punished and deported to make it look hard hard for others who do the same.

Again, this does not mean I approve the intent of this site and the way people go to the cheapest level to bash Indians.

They ought to waterboard this guy daily until he gets deported.

No integrity or ethics and they rationalize it by thinking that its fine; as long as there isn't sufficient enforcement and they don't get caught - it's acceptable. Typical indian mindset of 'look! over there!' it's not our fault because you allowed it to happen - so therefore, its all fine.

indian 'culture' needs a lot of work... at least here in America.

amazing. These greasy, slimey slumdog thieves steal from the U.S. - and turn around and abuse and cheat their own people. It almost makes me feel sorry for the slumdog scumbags that come over here to rob American jobs. One question, to all the indian lying, thieving indian shitbirds out there: if india is so great, and the center of everything fantastic on this planet, why would you want to leave it - let alone go to such great lengths to come here and break our laws and risk going to prison? Honestly, I hear alot of crap about how amazing india and indians all are, why don't you all just stay there and take advantage of the "greatness" that is india ? If I came from a country that was so amazing, believe me, nothing could get me out there. Definitely not going somewhere else where they didn't want me. And for all those sell-out companies that import the dumbshit turds from india, I think they should all go over there and open up shop in india. Nothing wrong with that, I mean...it is the greatest place in the world, right? It's amazing why they would rather import these job robber here to America, a country that is obviously inferior to india(?), rather than just go to india and start working over there...
Please, do everyone a favor, take your own advice, and please stay in your on "super" world-power country....

Warmest Regards,
Please Do The Needful

The Infosys/Palmer case notwithstanding, it appears to be these small-fry operators who are getting caught and prosecuted for abuses involving a dozen or so fraudulent visa applications.  The major IT body-shops like TCS, Infosys, etc. have so far been getting away with visa abuse on a large scale of tens of thousands.

This could be because tracing responsibility to an individual within a large corporation is more difficult than is the case for a smaller privately owned firm.  Also, the major body-shops have powerful corporate and political allies within the United States.

The current Indian IT body-shop model - like most business models - is not indefinitely sustainable.  It may now be on the declining end of an arc of about 15 years and with a terminal date of around 2014.  So market forces may eventually accomplish what inadequate federal enforcement has been slow to achieve.

I always maintain Vedas are GREAT , India is great so is hinduism.

BUT Indians ARE NOT necessarily great and gracious. Exceptions prove the rule.

The facts I have narrated so far reveal what they actually are.Not cut & paste reports from newspapers and/or recorded history long dead.

In Kuwait I think some Americans are also working in certain companies.
The other day my faux husband S.N.Ramachandran of Fouad Alghanim (965-97201449 blackberry company given , driving an Auddy car company given & amassed lots of expensive suits , ties , shirts etc all due to Kuwaiti company given dinars for his useless routine brainless work as CFO ) while talking to some American over the telephone said with mock humility :-

" Oh Sir , I am honoured to talk to you" yadayada.

While knotting his Zodiac tie clumsily pompously said:-

" These Americans have no money at all..always wearing the same shirt & pant for a week ...whereas look at me...everyone stares at me with awe including the owner Mohammed Alghanim asking enviously about my ties & shirts. My knowledge about finance also unmatched ....without me this company would collapse.....".

That is the typical Indian attitude. Sickeningly sanctimonious , arrogant and jingoistic too. In my interactions I have seen the poor Egyptian security guards of my apartment extremely well mannered , non greedy & incredibly honest & decent.

Yes both are Muslims but far far superior to  vegetarian/non vegetarian/pious /non pious/ qualified /illiterate/ good looking/ ugly looking/ achievers/non achievers Indians as a whole. That includes women & children of Indian origin also along with men. Utterly despicable creatures.

One H1-B that I worked with paid some guy 2K to get his green card. Paid to another Indian. He got ripped off of course. What you have to understand about India and Indians is that they eat their own. They don't trust each other. It's a vicious environment to be in. So when they come over here they laugh and start scamming, viewing Americans as naive and easy to fool.
A guy I know is trying to break into the IT field from a financial background. He got a job offer through an Indian Recruiter. Get this, the recruiter told him that if he left the job before a year he would have to pay 30 percent of his yearly salary in a "kickback" fee to the recruiter.
I told this guy to forget it, don't even talk to these Indian guys and definitely don't give them your resume. They will take it and change the name to suit them and another Indian scab's name will be on it.
They all lie like hell so it's no surprise that visa applications were falsified. Standard business practice for them. Lie Lie Lie.
The irony is that some of the Indians that I've met are great people. But it's kinda the diamond in the coal mine scenario. For every 1000 scammers there are a handful of honest decent people.

@Joe from NJ is right in his assessment.

Look at the mess that is India today. And Indians have been very comfortable accepting & condoning corruption , fraudulent acts ( bribery , adulteration , forgery , fake certificates forgery included ) dilution of excellence in education etc. The same Indians wherever they go continue the same practices. How much can one monitor, given America was to a large extent unaware of the real face of Indians.

Even today Indian Parliament makes a lot of noises on weeding out corruption. They cannot. They are the custodians of corruption. Most of them are criminals. It is a partnership of unequals when India pompously declares both are great democracies. India still has the audacity to imagine it has a great future.

For decades several members of Indian Parliament (MPs) have not even paid their telephone bills. Which runs into lots of rupees. No one can penalise or extract money from them as they are the UNTOUCHABLES.

The uber rich bollywood actress Hemamalini ( brand ambassador of Baba Ramdev) preening herself as a brahmin vegetarian bharathanatyam dancer ( I think she belongs to BJP party or a spokesperson) travelled in a train within India without buying a ticket. On being caught was NOT PENALISED. Indians worship their filmstars as much as the rotten scum they elect being themselves inherently rotten.

Today's newspaper states a MARXIST MLA ( member of legislative assembly) of Tamil Nadu travelled in a crowded bus. Lots of passengers were travelling standing. But this MLA threw such a lot of tantrum " I am MLA someone should have vacated & offered me a seat " thus making the conductor who was in no way wrong or responsible to be suspended from service.

Ponder over these three cases. Along with several facts I have narrated so far.
America should SHUN Indians & India. Do not extend any kind of help or aid or assistance to India. Outsource the punishment of corrupt Indians to China & ISLAM.

@ ex h1b is honest indeed.

There is an Indian now working abroad who wrote about his life in India & what life taught him. Narrating the gist of it below:-

" I was born in a very poor family. Due to free meals being offered in government schools I attended.Luckily one of my teachers never taught the boring syllabus.Instead described foreign countries like America , Europe , Singapore & China. I thought & thought asking myself several questions for which no one could give convincing answers. I know India was colonised , invaded etc. Nevertheless after 1947 it could have done so much. But did not. Made it much worse making us long for those colonial powers.....

Thank God , I made up my mind to study well & quit India. I am happy in the country I have chosen to live outside India.

My advice to fellow Indians , if you want to prosper WITHIN India join Indian politics. You can plunder & rule over the rest.Ensure security for your families also with plundered loot.

If you are a conscientious person aspiring to live well QUIT India".

Indian hiring manager and Indian staffing firm are a recipe of kickback.

"Chambers has no idea that Cisco has become such a big scandal, wehere every hiring manager is into kickbacks. They are not hiring people based on merit, but on the money these managers can make out of them. Try getting a job and you'd be forced to go through the pre-approved recruiters and then each hiring manager starts to make hourly on you.
I have first hand knowledge as I worked there. I left them for the same reason. Theres a scandal in everything that happens at CISCO "

" Typical Indian mentality. Fraud isn't unethical? Really? What a sh|thead! "

@Anonymous is very correct.

Indians just have no idea at all what ETHICS mean. But function like mobile taperecorders full of voluble quotations & memorised slokas (hymns). And then say America should respect their "sovereignty".  Commonsense is all that is required to know there are no borders & countries but Virtue & vice.

One extremely important trait that Americans have which Indians lack you all should know. This is why Americans should never TRUST Indians worldwide.Evangelicals can give them new names thrusting Bibles in their hands but their innate proclivities can never be altered.

Whatever be the political affiliations or religious beliefs of Americans ( I am not including Indians settled as American citizens) they always work by & large for the good of the people. On detecting frauds/crimes/ charlatans/health breakthroughs  NEVER hesitate to reach out instantly alerting fellow citizens & fighting for their individual rights & liberties.

Take for instance Clint Eastwood's movie "Changeling" where it is the Presbyterian Church people who exert themselves in releasing women incarcerated in psychiatric wards & demanding Justice.

Or when Meryl Streep is honoured by the rest like Diane Keaton , Goldie Hawn , Kevin Kline , Jack Nicholson etc etc with genuine warmth & appreciation.

Whereas Indians are just the OPPOSITE. They WANTONLY , PURPOSELY feign ignorance pretending to be clueless. Their mean mentality is such---why should I alone suffer , get cheated , get raped ...let the others also go through the same much worse pain....it is not my problem. Indians will always be like that only. I don't see any great future AT ALL for these Indians.

Indian filmstars steal the lines , words & thoughts of Hollywood actors & actresses including their  stint at "doing something good for the society" insincerely. Indians are FAKES. Cheap worthless FAKES. Jealous creatures.

Internet , blogging all have been American inventions. Indians only plagiarize everything from the others. I know of one Indian who is quite famous , well read & has worked in America also for many years in some top scientific research field. After benefitting IMMENSELY & returning to India pompously declares:-

" Americans actually know nothing. It is those from Poland , Germany , India etc who excel in everything contributing everything be it art , culture or science. And Americans take all credit for themselves ".

Does it make any sense AT ALL ? Considering his alleged voluminous information filled head authoring many books.

Just got back from a grat vacation in the mountains. Didn't have to look at one stinking slumdog faking fraud for an entire week. Now I've come back refreshed and coding like a lunatic. America truly needs to rethink the mess slumdogs have made of the US.

"You are victim of this guy Srinivas - tunnel rat ? You fat assed a victim ?"

How do you know he is fat?

"what makes you think America owes you a Job for life ?"

Well we DID build the place for the first 506 years before you ever came here. That counts for something. Besides, Title 8, Section 1182 INADMISSIBLE ALIENS says it does. Read it.

"against the interests of corporate america, against the interests of international competion ?"

Funny but you could have cared less about competing before Americans made the US economy boom 14 years ago. And since WE TRAINED you, it's questionable just how much you are even able to "compete". And a country is more than just corporations. It's people too. America is more than just its corporations.

"US government should spend millions of dollars to ensure you lazy bum does not face competition from citizens of a foriegn country ?"

Yes it should. Title 8, Section 1182 says so. As for being "lazy" we invented IT long before dumb Indians ever set foot in USA. And if America is going to be subjected to unlimited foreign "competition", then all the other countries of the world should too and that includes India - like say, oh, dropping your 100% tariffs on imported US autos and auto parts.

"But morally and ethically what wrong did he do ?"

Lying, cheating, bribing a judge, and violating US immigration law. Not to mention stealing thousands of jobs from US citizens which they belong to.

"He just wanted to supply well skilled professionals for respectable jobs required by reputed American companies and make some earnings from it. If you take away his nationality and international borders its not really a crime. "

Well borders are still in place and as long as they are, laws apply. As for his nationality, corruption in India is a well-known cultural phenomenon. USA doesn't need to import more 3rd world criminals, we've already got enough. As for "well skilled professionals" if you are so well-skilled then why haven't you kept the US economy going as promised in 1998? In fact, you're so "skilled" you created the biggest economic disaster in 70 years.

Go home and start a toilet factory - India could use it.

yeah, that is good. You also get the 'urgent' bullshit alot. The ironic thing about how they operate, is that it's anything but 'urgent'; ie. taking a week or more to attend to a task that a normal human would usually wrap up in 20 minutes or so. I'm not kidding when I say, that I've actually had them admit to me that they know they are lazy. A couple have actually told me that very thing, so I'm sure many more of them - the ones that know that's probably not a good thing to admit to - know it about themselves, but don't want to admit to it.

Another good one is, "Hi, Kumar here". They like to refer to themselves in third-person for some reason. Really stupid sounding.

The last one, and I'm sure you've seen this alot, is when you are talking to them and they shake their head back and forth, like some bobble-head doll you would get at a ball game. When I'm in a meeting, and I see them doing that, I just want to go over and slap their head with hammer....

@ Tunnel Fat ,

Enjoyed the name chosen Smile) And you are spot on about Indians. Not just that. Actually they are NOT hard working as often repeated by them with sickening bellicosity. They are shoddy , know nothing about punctuality , ill mannered. They think by wearing bermudas & copying American accent instantly become Americans.

I heard something very revelatory the other day. A Tamilian in Coimbatore  (thank God he is a lecturer in English literature ) said in a televised debate (caught in the convoluted politics & chicanery of family politics for generations; yes unlike you Westerners an Indian has to marry the entire family, win their approval throughout their lives , attend  wedding after wedding carrying  gifts  ,attend the ear piercing ceremonies of all born brats , their first rice feeding (weaning from milk)ceremony with gifts and life becomes so painful one welcomes death eagerly...you will get everything including overfeeding by spouses with a view to giving you heart attacks & ailments but never will you get a taste of LOVE as the Indian farts just don't KNOW what LOVE IS.No wonder satisfy the urges by  watching song & dance gyrations in movies day after day non stop for hours together):-

"For the very FIRST time in our family there is no mother in law vs daughter in law fights guess why ...my son has married an Australian girl!"

I was gratified to see another very fair complexioned Ukrainian girl marrying a dark skinned Tamilian working in some East European country. Both fell in love & wanted to get married in Thiruvannamalai ( both being devotees of Sri.Ramana Bhagavan). It is the Indians who are racists besotted with fair complexion. Not the Whites. One Indian male student in Canada told me:-

" Westerner marry for love unlike us Indians ".

He was married for barely two months in Chennai & said it was such a torture, took a divorce & came back to Canada for post grad studies.

In the early seventies when us Tamilian Brahmins were much more conservative & insular with lots of preconceived notions about Whites without Internet , satellite tv etc one Tambram male had married an American girl. The mother in law called Kanakavalli was so profoundly moved by the love shown by her American daughter in law that on her own wrote a detailed article describing her & how fortunate she felt for getting such a daughter in law. That too in a tabloid that generally kosher tambrams avoid.

I told my son categorically if it is LOVE you are seeking don't even look at an Indian. Better remain celibate. If you are that desperately seeking LOVE pray to Ramana Bhagavan ( don't visit matrimonial columns stating your age , salary etc) & she will float into your life. He thought I was crazy. But I was right. She DID float into his life. That is how my son became a devotee of Ramana Bhagavan. That GOD does exist is indelibly etched in him.

@James ,

Now I will tell you how Indians steal everything from you including phrases & words  with a view to stabbing you ungratefully giving one more example.

" Hey dude , we are here coding like lunatics building your country's prosperity & how racist hegemonic imperial you warmongering Americans are ....do something for your country man".

@Tunnel fat

"All said and done, Indian Americans are the most educated and wealthiest ethnicity in the US www.firstpost.com/.../...s-in-usa-351354.html";

That's because they took over all the high paying jobs created by white Americans. Bank robbers are rich too. From 1978-1998 Indians sat around doing nothing while Americans invented IT. Once we did all the hard work, Indians walked in and took it over for free. I can go rob a bank and say I am "rich" too. Without the jobs created by Americans Indians would still be wondering what a lightswitch is.

"East Europeans are at the lowest rung filth mafia dominated thug immigrants. Its a fact not an opinion"

No, it's because they never created anything just like Indians didn't.

if you are so smart and rich why don't you go home and build some toilets in India?

" Hey dude , we are here coding like lunatics building your country's prosperity & how racist hegemonic imperial you warmongering Americans are ....do something for your country man".

That is all Indians can do - copy what Americans do. Or as the Chinese say "Sometimes in life it helps to copy the winners".

Indians run around asking Americans to train them and what to do and then claim they are super geniuses after they kicked the Americans to the curb. Indians can do nothing on their own.

If they are building our country's prosperity then why is the USA in the worst recession in 70 years? They must not be building too much.

One time I told an Indian he could have America because they ruined it and that I was moving to Japan. Now there is a huge wave of Indiots trying to break into Japan and live there, bu they haven't had much success. One word from an American can send the entire nation of India into a tizzy about how to try to be successful next.

Eventually Indiots will run out of hosts to live off of and they will have to face up to their own failures.

Indians couldn't code their way out of a wet paper bag.

Oh - and watch Wells Fargo go under and need to be bailed out by Americans after Indians ruin it too.

FRAUDS!

India is an emerging third world country with an educated mass of workers who are not all smart but can get IT jobs done for cheap which attracted Corp. America and thus there are a million plus here in N.America. Observing this phenomenon US IT students dropped out of CS courses and displaced IT workers left the workforce to do other jobs thus creating a vaccum which foreign workers and firms mostly from India filled. All making money but the US citizen worker who got the shaft. Now who can undo this mess - Not Corp. America which feeds of this nor the politicians who get the $$$ from the lobbyists - only the workers who got shafted can do something.

@James ,

I completely agree with your replies to Tunnel Fat.

Another trait I will tell you among them. Despite earning well & being very affluent citizens of America & Canada will suddenly convert the cost of some food item into Indian rupees & exclaim " how very expensive here" & will recall the cost of some food item eaten in India in the fifties & say "India is really great...with a few paise I could eat so much....am pining to return & lie on the red oxide floor staring at one coconut tree yonder....there is no life in America..."

My Indian acquaintances & relatives in India are very rich. Very very rich owning properties , gold etc. Yet like idiots after coming to Kuwait (1992 Oct) I would visit India frequently with my child carrying lots of expensive gifts from here paying excess baggage as they asked for "foreign goods" & dry fruits , nuts , sarees ,chocolates, cheeselings biscuits, gold etc.Incredibly greedy gluttonously greedy parasites. I was such a colossal IDIOT supplied everything for them. But would not give me even one cup of extra good quality coffee.Or let me wash my clothes in their washing machine. When I wanted to visit Temples would pile on " all of us will also come with you...you have Kuwaiti dinars convert into rupees & pay for all of us ".

Thank God my son was growing up.Suddenly he told me " Amma , why are you so stupid ...none of them like you & me..it is the free gifts & money that are making them bestow their faux smiles & greetings. In Kuwait this father (S.N.Ramachandran ) is counting fils & not buying even a toy aeroplane for me that would exceed one dinar" & broke down.

An intelligent person like you  would understand from this how meanminded they are.Would NEVER EVER call us from India including my mother (Thank God she is no more)but insist I call them " you are in rich Kuwait so convert the dinars into rupees & exclaim AIYO...so rich can't you call ?....ask the price of a bunch of parsley here & convert into rupees & exclaim AIYO if you can purchase just parsley with so much rupees how much in millions you must be having to buy rice  pulses etc you are rolling in money ...why not remit some money regularly every month...Vedic Scriptures also say the rich sister should bear the burden of all their relatives..."

While visiting Calcutta ( Kolkata) I wanted to go to Dakshineshvar Kali Temple. It being very hot & humid I asked my sister who I had given so many gifts including sarees , scouring pads , cleaning sponges , cosmetics , shampoo etc etc from Kuwait to give me one cotton saree to wear to the Temple.I avoided carrying my own clothes to wear for two reasons - I was not allowed to wash them using their washing machine & they would add to my excess baggage. She said :-

" You are from rich Kuwait.Go to a saree shop & buy a cotton saree. Before leaving for Kuwait give that to me as a parting gift ".

And when I pointed out her unfairness all of them shouted at me glaring :-

" Our Scriptures say be generous, give & give & forget totally. If you point out what you gave us as gifts all punya derived vanish instantly...once given it is all ours. Arrogance is what you are showing with your dinar possession.."

And this CFO S N Ramachandran my faux husband full of malice towards me & my son would join them & shout :-

" I told you , she is very arrogant , argumentative selfish always disrespectfully talking....the Scriptures say wife should be obedient & docile...."

@PJ

"Though I do not approve of India and Indian's bashing on this site, as an Indian myself, I feel ashamed of people like Srinivas Doppalapudi who make the whole lot look bad. People like these guys should be punished and deported to make it look hard hard for others who do the same.

Again, this does not mean I approve the intent of this site and the way people go to the cheapest level to bash Indians."

Let me see if I get this: you people come into OUR country and then your businessmen like Azim Premji and Vineet Nayar go on our national TV saying America does not have the talent, American grads are unemployable, all Americans are stupid, blah, blah, blah, and then you accuse US of India bashing?

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND, SLUMDOG. IT'S CALLED KARMA. YOU PEOPLE STARTED IT, NOW YOU GET TO DEAL WITH IT.

economictimes.indiatimes.com/.../14397145.cms

BANGALORE: India's software companies are ill-prepared to cope with the major challenges they are facing, industry veteran and iGate chief executive Phaneesh Murthy has said.

Despite attaining revenues of $100 billion ( Rs 5.6 lakh crore) in information technology and related services, software firms have not innovated adequately and relied too much on cost arbitrage, Murthy, a former head of sales and marketing at Infosys, told ET in an interview.

"We haven't done much innovation. For 20 years, the IT industry has been working on the principle that it can provide cheap engineers who work at cheaper rates."

Murthy's comments come amid slowing growth for software companies, which are seeing clients in their main markets- the United States and Europe - turn cautious about spending on information technology. Software industry body Nasscom has projected that growth for the sector in the year to March 2013 will slow down to between 10% and 14%. At the same time, fundamental technology shifts are taking place as services move to the cloud and the use of mobile devices increase rapidly in organisations.

"Honestly, the most fundamental problems of this industry have not been tackled until now," said Murthy, 48, pointing to the call centre industry which is facing attrition rates of 80-90%.

"It is being handled in a pathetic manner. A proper ecosystem needs to be created."

The trend in the industry, he said, is towards creating applications on demand. And because of the app ecosystem, miniaturisation is also catching on, with programmes being written for mobile devices instead of large computer systems.

"The IT industry has to undergo dramatic transformation from a trading mentality to a manufacturing mentality," he said.

Murthy, an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology-Madras and Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, is transforming iGate into a corporation capable of competing against the top tier of Indian software companies, including his former employer Infosys.

Under him, it acquired Patni Computer Systems for $1.2 billion, decided to spin off its loss-making staffing services arm, restructured internally and won several large deals.

"I would say that at about a billion dollars, we have started our teenage years. And certainly there is a lot of room to grow. We are playing in a $2 trillion space."

The outlook for the industry will improve in the second and third quarters of 2012 after the first three months in which most clients did not spend from their estimated information technology budgets, he said.

There have been no new projects from Europe in the last 5-6 months, with France becoming irrelevant and the continent "more socialist."

"Europe is kind of dead to me. Other than Germany, most European companies have lost market share globally. There are more Asian companies that are a lot more hungry."

Murthy, who is credited with taking Infosys' global sales from $2 million to $700 million in a decade up to 2002, said he expects iGate to reach the milestone of $3 billion in revenues in 2017. The focus will be on large deals, with the company severing ties with non-strategic and smaller clients.

"I think we have the soul and heart of small company in the body of a large company. We are trying to give our customers the scale they need."

S.N.Ramachandran came to Kuwait in April-May 1992 & I came with my son towards the end of Oct 1992.

By 2000 S.N.Ramachandran had made quite a lot of money. My brother J.Mohan & Vasudharini his wife came much earlier to Kuwait & were billionaires. As before marriage itself Vasudharini in Calcutta was frequenting discotheques of five star hotels & herself claimed she never stepped out of the house without minimum six thousand rupees as pocket money. Her father purposely presented a dowdy exterior to evade income tax. He was financing kollywood movies , into horse racing plus had an enormous cache of many precious gems , diamonds , gold etc. Claimed some royal family gaifted him (Nagarajan) all of it.Came from Sri.Lanka was what they said. But would suddenly stage a volte face & say we belong to Kaanchipuram. ( I told you Indians are congenital liars) Spent some years in Indian jail we knew. But Mohan said " so what " as he wanted to marry her.

I am narrating all of it so that you can evaluate how affluent they are ( and were). My brother J.Prakash passed away in 2000 due to psychiatric toxic drugs. He never truly asked for any gifts save fragrant talcum powder & good quality undergarments (made in UK/Europe) as they are far superior to made in India  very thick spartan ones. But Prakash was wantonly spurned by both Mohan Vasudharini & S.N.Ramachandran. Was not given anything.

Before dying he only asked for Yardley 's Rose Royale from Kuwait from me.Both of us really loved its fragrance. In UTC where I picked it up for Prakash , my faux husband shouted at me telling:-

" It is so costly ! One dinar & hundred phils !!!! No way. I am not paying for it".

All of them could not even manage faux tears on his death. They were busy devouring gulab jamuns & watching tv programmes. All Hindus btw.Tambrams.

H1B HINDOO MURDER US TEACHER IN US

timesofindia.indiatimes.com/.../14421122.cms

BANGALORE: A 26-year-old techie from Bangalore, who was in the US on an assignment, allegedly committed suicide in a New Jersey hotel room last week. He was wanted in connection with the murder of an American woman.

Pawan Kumar Anjaiah, a software engineer with business and technology services major Cognizant, died allegedly of drug overdose, according to US media reports quoting Delaware state police. He died in a room in Belleville city of Wayne county in New Jersey state on June 19.

The body of Pawan, a resident of RT Nagar, is in a Belleville hospital, sources told TOI. With no sign of the body arriving in Bangalore though a week has elapsed since his death, Pawan's family accused his employers of having washed their hands of the case and telling them not to speak to the media about it. But Cognizant denied this and said it was providing all assistance.

Pawan's family believes he was innocent and not the kind who would be involved in any crime. Delaware police were looking for Pawan in connection with the alleged murder of Danille Mehlman, a 26-year-old teacher and mother of a four-year-old boy. Her body was found with multiple stab wounds in a hotel room in Dewey Beach, Delaware, on June 18.

After preliminary investigations, Delaware police sounded an alert for Pawan, who was believed to have been sharing the room with the woman and possessed a deadly weapon. A day later, Pawan's body was found in the locked room of Belleville Motor Lodge. Pawan, who went to the US on an H-1B visa (non-immigrant) in early 2011, was scheduled to return to Bangalore next week.
