After having lived in India, I would never EVER hire an Indian without doing a thorough check on his/her academic credentials.
By many accounts, academic fraud in Indian culture is HUGE.
This was told to me by the Indians I worked-with but was confirmed by a visa officer I met in Dubai who had vetted thousands of CVs. According to him, Indians rarely had the academic credentials they claimed. Even if a degree is real, the whole school might be a fraud!
One frank Indian HR person I met automatically discounts claimed Indian degrees by one — if an Indian claims to have a B.A., they probably have about high school diploma, etc. If they claim to have a PH.D, they probably have done some Masters level work.
I’m not specifically accusing Kundra, BTW. I realize that he spent most of his life in America.

BTW, I expect an Indian to flame me for saying this. But what I say, I learned from _Indians_. I’m not a bigot — I like India and her people.
